Half Day & Full Day Programme

The programme curriculum revolves around the needs of the child. The programme and activities are varied and structured so as to create a conducive and constructive environment for the intellectual, emotional, social and physical development of the child.

The programme for the full day care varies with the different age groups. However, all the children follow this basic schedule :

7.00 am to 8. 15 am RECEPTION OF CHILDREN

Children are brought into the Center at around this time. Upon their arrival, parents have to sign in the attendance book, which is located at the entrance of the Center. Messages with regard to medication and how to administer it should be indicated and signed by the parents in the medication form.

8.15 am to 8.45 am ASSEMBLY
Here is the time when all the children assemble and enjoy some exercise either indoors or outdoors and be informed of the latest news about the Center. 
8.45 am to 9.00 am MORNING SNACK
Children are given a cup of hot drink with cereals, bread and kuehs in the morning. The children are also taught to feed themselves and clear their plates. 
9.00 am to 9.30 am OUTDOOR PLAY
There is a big playground at the Center for the children to play.
9.30 am to 10.30 am ACTIVE LEARNING
1st Language, numbers and science activities are organised for the children during this time. These lessons are activity-based and there are many learning experiences through play and practical work.
10.30 am to 11.00 am BATH
This provides numerous opportunities for learning the fun way. The children are encouraged to care for themselves and their belongings. In addition, they are taught to undress and dress themselves. The older children are taught to bathe themselves under teacher’s supervision.
11.00 am to 11.30 am ACTIVE LEARNING (2nd Language)
Second language is taught to the children through stories, rhymes and daily conversations. For the older children, writing and reading skills are also added into the syllabus.
11.30 am to 12.00 pm MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
Appreciating music and learning through music is the emphasis here. Children themselves have a chance at using different musical instruments.
12.00 pm to 12.30 pm ART AND CRAFTS

Children are encouraged to work with their fingers and create.

In addition, these activities provide them with the pre-writing skills, which are essential for later writing practices.

12.30 pm to 1.30 pm LUNCH

Lunch is nutritious and the menu varies from day to day. The meal basically consists of a meat dish, a vegetable dish, a soup and dessert. A copy of the month’s menu can be found displayed on the notice board.      

1.30 pm to 1.45 pm PERSONAL HYGIENE

Children will be shown the correct way to brush their teeth before they have their afternoon nap.   

1.45 pm to 3.30 pm AFTERNOON NAP

After a morning of activities, the children have a nap in the afternoon before embarking on the next series of activities.

3.30 pm to 4.00 pm TEA

Porridge, bean soup, cakes and drinks are usual for the children’s afternoon tea. Some younger children may have their afternoon milk either during tea or lunch.

4.00 pm to 4.30 pm MORAL EDUCATION

Children will be taught to be filial to their parents. They will also be taught to be helpful, honest and charitable.

4.30 pm to 5.00 pm ACTIVE LEARNING

To finish up the days directed activities eg. Language, Numbers Art & Craft, etc.

5.00 pm to 5.30 pm FREE ACTIVITIES

During this time, the children have a choice of playing in the playroom, outdoor play or watch cartoons. The playroom provides a variety of interest corners that give the child opportunities to learn through play. Children taking the transport will leave the Center at this time.

5.30 pm to 7.00 pm PREPARATION FOR HOME

Parents usually arrive around this time to pick up their children. The Center closes promptly at 7.00 pm.
